Alex Motshwanetsi Mathole is Executive Director and General Counsel for Siemens Southern Africa. Alex joined Siemens in March 2006 and in addition to her strategic executive director role, she leads the legal team with a particular focus on providing commercial and transactional guidance for the overall Siemens South East Africa operation within the Energy, Industry, Healthcare and IT Sectors. Alex completed her undergraduate legal degree in 1993 at the University of the Western Cape before advancing her post graduate legal studies at the Wits University.
She started her legal career in 1997 as an attorney where she practiced in commercial law, corporate law and litigation before joining the corporate environment with a security multinational company where she served in various executive roles.
In 2009 Alex was nominated for SA Leading Women in Business & Government. She featured in the 2008/2009 Little Black Book” which is the Financial Mail’s guide on most influential black decision makers. In 2007 she received the CEO Award for outstanding Business Support, she also featured in the 2004 “.Leading Women in Business: Magazine” for her role in the private security sector as National Chairperson of the Industry Association. She is a Member of SA Women in Motion: an organisation of Women Executives mentoring young women across business Sectors in SA.
